Maritime Week Africa will next month be embracing change and planning for the future. Celebrating its 16th annual edition, this hugely popular event will take place for the first time outside sub-Saharan Africa, on the beautiful Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.

Packed with influential international speakers, the flagship conference will focus on traditional bunkering in Africa and the Indian Ocean, looking at how changing voyage patterns caused by ongoing political tensions in the Red Sea region have been impacting Mauritius – and other refuelling hubs, from South Africa, Namibia and Angola, to the Gulf of Guinea, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands. It will examine whether the recent change in bunker buying patterns is temporary or here to stay, and how suppliers throughout Africa are responding.

The conference will cover the fast-changing geopolitical situation, the blue economy, environmental issues, and international trade, while also looking at how digitalisation is driving change in Africa.
