SMM: Decarbonising Shipping with Wind Propulsion (11:00 AM, Hall A4)
Today, September 2, at 11:00 AM, during SMM 2026 in Hamburg, a press conference will present Wind for Goods 2027 – the world’s only international event fully dedicated to wind-assisted ship propulsion.
Wind propulsion is one of the few decarbonisation technologies shipping can deploy right now, and it’s gaining real industrial and political traction worldwide. The topic lines up directly with this year’s SMM theme, “Driving the Maritime Transition”.
Programme:
–Gavin Allwright, Secretary General of the International Windship Association (IWSA): the state of wind propulsion globally
–Lise Detrimont, CEO of Wind Ship: the state of the industry in France
–Claire Hugues: the state of the industry in the Pays de la Loire region
–Antoine Adam: announcement of Wind For Goods 2027
–Seven 1-minute pitches from participating companies
–Reception to follow, hosted by Wind Ship
Location: Stand WindShip Hall A4 | 205
Duration: 1h.
We’d welcome you or a member of your team to attend. Interviews with the speakers can be arranged on-site immediately after the conference or separately during the show.
