Annual Conference of Marine Technology 2025: Steering Innovation Into a New Era

The Annual Conference of Marine Technology 2025, organised by the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology (H.I.M.T.), will take place on 9–10 December 2025 at the prestigious Eugenides Foundation in Palaio Faliro, Athens. This annual gathering brings together engineers, researchers, shipowners and maritime-technology professionals to explore the developments and challenges shaping the sector.

What’s on the Agenda

Across two days, the conference programme includes:

  • Industry sessions on the opening day

  • Scientific-papers presentations on the second day

  • A Technology Exhibition showcasing the latest advancements in marine innovation

  • A Round Table discussion on emerging priorities for Greek and international shipping

  • The annual Gala Dinner and H.I.M.T. Awards on 10 December

Themes will cover ship design, propulsion, energy transition, digitalisation, autonomous-vessel technologies, environmental protection and operational efficiency.

Why It Matters

As global shipping accelerates its transition toward cleaner fuels, smarter operation and greater resilience, events like this play a vital role. They bring together the technical community that designs the next generation of ships with the operators who put them to sea.

The conference offers valuable insight into the technologies and research that may soon shape the environmental impact of marine transport — from low-emission propulsion to advanced optimisation systems and decision-support tools.
