ship.energy Announces Bunkering & Sustainability Forum (#BASF25) in Tenerife
Theme: “Planning Maritime Energy Strategies”
ship.energy is pleased to announce the inaugural Bunkering & Sustainability Forum – Tenerife (BASF25), scheduled for 10 to 12 November 2025 at the Centro Oceanográfico de Canarias, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This pioneering event is designed to address the pressing issue of fuel supply strategies for islands and midsized ports – locations that must import all of their bunkering fuel yet face mounting environmental regulations. BASF25 will explore both current and future marine fuels, including methanol, biofuels, and ammonia, and the essential infrastructure needed – storage, delivery, and port facilities – to support a sustainable transition.
Hosted by the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the forum aims to facilitate knowledge sharing among fellow bunkering hubs and attract fuel suppliers to strengthen the marine fuels infrastructure in similar markets.
What to Expect at BASF25:
- Alternative Fuels Course (10 November)
A full-day, intensive training led by Nigel Draffin – industry luminary with over 50 years in shipping and bunkering. Topics include fuel categories, production, storage, delivery, safety, emissions, regulations, and cost models. - HighLevel Round Table & Flagship Conference (11–12 November)
Strategic discussions on sustainable bunkering practices and fuel adoption; stay tuned for speaker announcements. - Networking & Reception Events
Two evening receptions, plus an exclusive tour of Tenerife’s port, bunkering facilities, and sheltered anchorage.
